Mrs. Shameka Smith
Prior to assuming the position of director at St. Peter Baptist Church Child Development Center (CDC), Mrs. Smith was a director in Virginia Beach, Virginia for seven years. She also volunteered at several elementary schools in the Tidewater area. She earned a bachelors degree in early childhood education from Old Dominion University and plans to receive a masters degree in education from Kaplan University.
She says, "For as long as I can remember I have been around kids whether it be teaching Sunday school, babysitting, tutoring, summer camp work, classroom teaching in the U.S. and abroad. These are just some of the things I have done with children. My goal is to instill a love for learning in all students at CDC."

The newly constructed campus offers a 5,000 square foot building which includes a multi-purpose room conducive to a wide range of activities for children and youth. The structure features the latest in modern capability for cable, computer and multi-media components. The state-of-the-art playground is secure and ADA appropriate.

Our Faculty
Our committed and dedicated faculty is always available and attentive to the needs and concerns of children. Faculty consists of teachers, instructional assistants, program
leaders, a chef, and maintenance personnel. Maintaining state-regulated student ratios is an utmost priority.
Our Mission
St. Peter Baptist Child Development Center seeks to effectively teach, care for and nurture children in a safe and creative learning environment. This ministry strives to meet the children's needs for physical, intellectual, social, and Christian growth.
